Do I need a license to run Dew?
No. Dew runs on the Free plan without a license key or signup, with up to 5 local users and 1 domain. Add a key later if you want more.
Who counts as a user?
Every active user account on your Dew server counts, and so does every invitation that has not been used or expired. Deactivated users and service accounts do not count. People who receive your links or upload to a request do not need an account and do not count.
What happens when I reach the user limit?
Existing users keep working. Adding or inviting another user is blocked until you deactivate a user, revoke an unused invitation, or upgrade. Dew warns you when you are close to the limit.
Can I buy Pro or Enterprise today?
Pro and Enterprise are open to early adopters. Email contact@getdew.io to join.
Can I try Pro or Enterprise before paying?
Yes. Both have a 30-day trial with the full feature set of the plan. While the paid plans are open to early adopters, trials go through us. When a trial ends, Dew returns to the Free plan and keeps your data.
What happens if I cancel or my license expires?
Dew keeps running on the Free plan. Users, domains, SSO sign-in and cloud storage keep working for 14 days; other paid features stop right away. After that, users above the limit can no longer upload or create links. Nothing is deleted. When you renew, Dew turns back on what your plan covers.
Can I move my license to another server?
Yes. Deactivate the license on the old server, then activate it on the new one. A license is tied to one running installation at a time.
Is there a limit on storage, files, or downloads?
No plan limits storage, file count, or downloads. Your administrator sets the maximum upload size (200 GB by default). Storage is whatever you attach, on local disk or your own S3-compatible provider.
